This is the view of the living room and the picture window, looking south from the breakfast nook. The south entry door to the apartment (from the central hallway) is seen in the far right-hand corner. The closed door on the near left is the breakfast nook's storage closet (photo below). The cabinet on the near right is the fold-down ironing board (also, photo below):

This photo of the south side of the kitchen was taken from the breakfast nook. The stove is nearly new, self-cleaning, and the burners will be replaced. The refrigerator is also nearly new. Also seen in the photo is the "north door" of the apartment (which leads out to the central hallway, near the building's main entrance).

In the basement is our brand new washing machine. To its right is a utility basin. Just to the left of the washing machine and a bit beyond it is the water heater that's dedicated to said machine: laundry is free for tenants here, so no need to scrounge quarters! And just beyond that water heater is the essentially silent hot water boiler (which heats the entire building via hot water baseboard heaters (visible in some of the photos above, and *very* nice! (It's a mild heat, and zero danger of catching anything on fire....they never even get too hot to touch!). The boiler room is directly beneath the available apartment's linoleum-floored kitchen....which keeps that floor nice and warm in the winter:

Here's the dryer, which sits across from the washing machine. Again, it's free for tenants to use, and nearly new:

Beyond the washing machine and utility basin are the small storage rooms we tenants each get. The door to the storage room for the available apartment is standing open:
